What is e-tron?

Audi has taken an electric motor and a conventional combustion engine to create a simple yet innovative electric driving experience. The engine and motor can work independently or in tandem with each other. This means e-tron models can run purely on the electric motor – ideal for city driving.

With an Audi e-tron you are offered the performance and reliability of a combustion engine, with the economy of an electric motor.

Audi Q7 e-tron

Audi's first ever plug-in hybrid SUV, the new Q7 e-tron, is a spacious five-seater with SUV agility, quattro all-wheel drive technology and remarkable hybrid efficiency.

Get ready for a car that combines the elevated driving position of an SUV and the efficiency of electric motoring. You can drive with just the powerful V6 TDI engine, just the 94kW electric motor (of up to 34 miles), or in hybrid mode with both. And available for the first time on an e-tron model, quattro all-wheel drive provides phenomenal grip on all surfaces.

Audi A3 Sportback e-tron

The A3 Sportback e-tron is recognisable by its subtle design cues. Audi intentionally does not develop any vehicles to be ‘futuristic’ in their exterior appearance, but rather builds upon existing model designs.

What counts are the innovative technologies and drive systems. This innovation is apparent in some of the finer design details of the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron, such as:

  • e-tron specific instrument cluster
  • e-tron specific Singleframe radiator grille in chrome
  • e-tron exterior body-styling elements
  • S line side sills
  • e-tron logo on the side wings and rear
