Lowestoft Colour Dash Sponsorship

When EACH announced they were bringing the Colour Dash to Lowestoft, the Robinsons Volkswagen team were first in line to support it.

The Colour Dash, organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), was held on a warm and bright Sunday afternoon in July at Normanston Park. With up to 1,000 runners invited to take part in the Lowestoft event, the dash raised significant funds for the charity. Last year, with nine events across the region, over £150,000 was raised.

Pulling together a team of ten Robinsons Volkswagen members of staff, the two-mile fun run around the park was a great day out. Showering in clouds of coloured powder paint, the team split in half to either run or participates as ‘Colour Pirates’ throwing the paint at runners. And the cars played their part – a brand-new Golf and Polo sat beside the finish line sporting colour splats.

Commenting on Volkswagens involvement with the Colour Dash, Mark Aspinall, General Manger at Robinsons Volkswagen said: “To be the Headline Sponsor of the EACH Lowestoft Colour Dash is an important opportunity to be further involved in the local community. As a manufacturer who produces a fantastic range of quality family cars we feel that partnering with EACH on this feel-good event provides us the perfect platform to showcase what we have available amongst a sea of smiling and hopefully very colourful faces.”

Dotted around the park, colour stations under explosions of yellow, green, pink, purple powder marked the route. Participants of all ages adorned bright tutus, shades and whistles and either ran, jogged or walked the course.

Ahead of the event, Tal Williams, EACH Norfolk Community Fundraiser, said: “We’re very excited to bring the Colour Dash to Lowestoft. We already deliver successful and popular events in Norwich and Kings Lynn and as anyone who’s taken part before knows, it’s an impressive sight and great fun for all the family.

“There’s no competitive aspect, so you can run, jog or walk the two miles – just be prepared to get covered in coloured powder paint. It creates truly impressive multi-coloured results!

We would like to thank EACH and their Fundraising team for inviting us to be a part of a truly inspiration local event. Count us in for next year!
